The excitement is mounting in anticipation of this Sunday's Open Day at the new-look Menangle Park Paceway.

Sunday's Open Day will give industry participants, trainers and drivers their first real chance to inspect the facility since its upgrade.

In what shapes to be a big day out for the New South Wales Harness Racing Club, 2KY Racing Radio will broadcast live throughout the morning from Menangle Park.

The broadcast will begin at 4am with fishing program Hi-Tide, which will then roll into Hollywood and Zorba's sports show.

A complimentary barbeque, proudly sponsored by long-time industry sponsor Cordina Chicken Farms, will be available for those who attend the day.

Attendees will be able to tour the facility and its refurbished buildings, while there will also be a walking of the track to give everyone a chance to closely inspect the new racing surface.

Menangle Park's 1400-metre track is the largest of its kind and standard in Australia and has been highly acclaimed both here and abroad.

A heavy media contingent is expected to converge on the Open Day which should ensure excellent coverage in both the mainstream and industry outlets of NSW's 'pride and joy'.

SKY Channel's In The Gig will be filming the Open Day activities for telecast later that evening.

Horses will also trial on the new racing surface throughout the day, with some of the State's leading trainers invited by the NSWHRC to get the first taste of what it will be like to use the large, spacious track.
